Co-Education

We believe in the value of coeducation, reflecting the belief that girls and boys should have equal access to educational and social opportunities.  This belief recognises the importance of the social dimension of learning.  It values boys and girls learning and growing up side by side gaining a better understanding of one anotherÙs differences and similarities.  We recognise the importance of role models and the need to challenge inappropriate stereotypes.

 

We have a commitment to:

provide many opportunities for co-curricular activities to be enjoyed together by girls and boys whilst recognising that at times there are activities in which it is appropriate for boys and girls to be apart

We believe in the value of service to others.

Christianity

We believe in the basic tenets of the Christian faith as the basis of the values the school holds to be important.  Goulburn Valley Grammar School is not allied to any one denomination of the Christian faith.

 

We have a commitment to:

  • the development of a coherent and socially responsible set of values.  In particular, tolerance of individual differences is strongly encouraged
  • non discriminatory admission policies
  • Christian values, along with the spiritual wisdom offered by other faiths; these values further respect the fundamental values of other faiths
  • observance of major Christian festivals
